Couch removal in Kerman is a job Neal handles for homes and rentals across the Central Valley. Neal owns Trash N Dash Junk Removal, and he hauls off the old couch. Text a photo to (559) 815-0874. A couch is one big, awkward piece, so the photo does more work here than on most jobs. Show the couch and the doorway it has to clear, and Neal can put a number on it from that.

Plenty of reasons put an old couch on the truck. A new couch is on order and the old one has to be out first. A tenant moved out and left a sagging sofa behind for the manager to deal with. A family clearing a parent's house has a sleeper nobody wants. A couch in the garage has been waiting for a pickup that never happened. If the recliner and the coffee table are leaving too, that is furniture removal, and one photo of the whole room gets one number for all of it.

Neal works out of Kerman and carries couches out of homes and rentals all over the valley. He takes them from Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Selma and Visalia, and from towns like Sanger, Reedley, Firebaugh and Oakhurst. Here is the full list of towns Neal serves. The price is set the same way wherever in the valley the couch sits, by how much room it takes on the truck.

  • Sofas and loveseats
  • Sectionals, every piece
  • Sleeper sofas
  • Reclining sofas

What a couch pickup usually looks like

Most couch jobs are one piece or one matching set. A three-seat sofa and the loveseat that went with it. A sectional in four or five parts, plus the corner wedge. A sleeper sofa, which weighs far more than it looks because of the metal bed folded inside. A reclining sofa with a power cord still running to the wall. Cushions, throw pillows and the matching ottoman usually go on the same load.

That is what sets this job apart from a garage or storage unit cleanout. Those loads are dozens of small things in boxes and bags. A couch job is one heavy, bulky shape that has to turn a hallway corner and clear a door frame. The work is in the carrying, and the photo tells Neal what he is carrying before he quotes it. A worn mattress can ride on the same load, and mattress removal covers that job on its own.

What it costs to haul off a couch

The minimum is $85. Neal prices the job from a photo and gives one number for the whole job. That number is set by how much room the load takes on the truck. A single loveseat takes a small corner of it. A five-piece sectional with the ottoman and a sleeper on top takes a good deal more. Two couches from two rooms are still one job and one number.

There are no add-ons of any kind. A heavy sleeper or a second-floor bonus room does not get its own line. Get the whole couch in the frame, and every section if it comes apart, so the number covers what is really there. The junk removal pricing guide explains how room on the truck turns into a price on bigger loads.

Where an old couch goes after pickup

Donation comes first. A couch someone could still sit on goes to a donation center before anything else is considered. Neal can see from the photo what shape it is in, so a clean, solid couch gets that chance. Get the cushions and the arms in the shot so the wear shows.

Many couches are past that point. The cushions are split open or the frame cracked years ago. A couch nobody can use goes to the landfill, because real trash belongs there. Metal in the load gets recycled. The metal bed frame from a sleeper and the steel mechanism in a recliner go that way too.

What Neal leaves behind on a couch job

Check the couch before it goes. Things slide down between the cushions and under the frame, and some of them cannot ride on the truck. Neal does not take firearms or ammunition, so a stray box of shells or a gun tucked under a cushion has to come out first. Look inside the zipper covers and under the deck of a sleeper as well. Medical waste stays off too, and that includes used needles.

A couch stored in the garage may have paint cans or a jug of solvent stacked on it, and those stay behind. Propane bottles, other pressurized tanks and asbestos stay behind too. Move the cans and tanks off the couch and out of the frame before taking the picture. Text a photo to (559) 815-0874 once the couch is clear.

Getting a couch out from upstairs or a back room

Nothing has to be at the curb. Neal carries the couch out from where it sits. That can be an upstairs bonus room or a covered patio out back. Nobody has to drag a sleeper down the stairs the night before and hurt their back doing it.

Put the path out in the photo too. A tight stairwell or a sliding door that only opens partway changes how a couch has to come through, and it is better for Neal to see that in the picture than to find it on the job. A sectional comes apart at its joins, so a narrow hall is easier on it than on a long one-piece sofa.

A property manager can text a photo of the couch the tenant left and say which unit it is in. The price comes from that picture, the same as on any other couch job.

Questions

Questions about couch removal.

How much does couch removal cost?
The minimum is $85, and there are no add-ons. Neal prices the job from a photo of the couch and gives one number for the whole job, set by how much room it takes on the truck.
Does the couch have to be outside or at the curb?
No. Neal carries the couch out from where it sits, upstairs or down the hall. Put the stairs or the tight doorway in the photo so he can see the way out.
Will my old couch be donated?
It can be. A couch that is still usable goes to a donation center first. One that is torn up or broken goes to the landfill.

What days can a couch be picked up?
Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Neal is closed Sunday.
Is couch removal available outside Kerman?
