For refrigerator removal, Neal Jackson of Trash N Dash Junk Removal comes to homes and rentals in Kerman and towns all over the Central Valley. He hauls off the old kitchen fridge or the dead freezer in the garage, and he carries it out from where it sits. Text a photo to (559) 815-0874 for a price. A fridge is one item, but it is tall and heavy. It has to come out through the kitchen doorway and down any front steps in one piece. When it can't go to a donation center, it goes to recycling with the other appliances.

Sometimes the fridge is the whole job. Other times it is the first thing out of a kitchen remodel or a rental turnover, and the old range and dishwasher are lined up behind it. If the washer and dryer are going on the same trip, the appliance removal page covers the rest of the laundry room. When the fridge is part of a bigger clear-out, the photo should show everything that is leaving, so it can all be priced at once.

Neal's home base is Kerman in Fresno County, and his fridge pickups reach well past it into the Central Valley. A fridge in a Fresno duplex is the same job as one in a Kerman kitchen, and so is one in Oakhurst or Shaver Lake. The full list of towns he works in shows the rest, including Madera and Visalia. Every one of those jobs is priced the same way, from the photo.

What makes a fridge pickup different

A cleanout is a pile, and the work is loading it. A fridge pickup is different. It is a single tall, heavy box that has to leave the house through doorways built for people. The rest of the job is usually small. It might be a second fridge from the garage or the old chest freezer on the back patio.

This job fits two kinds of people. One is a homeowner with a new fridge on the way and an old one that has to be out of the kitchen first. The other is a property manager turning over a rental, where the dead unit stands between the last tenant and the next one. Either way, the fridge is the piece nobody wants to walk down the front steps alone.

A fridge left in a vacant rental has often sat unplugged with the door shut for weeks. It still comes out the same way as a clean one.

Where an old fridge goes after pickup

Donation comes first. A fridge that still works goes to a donation center when one will take it. Whether a donation center takes it is up to that center. Say in the text that it still runs.

A fridge that quit goes to recycling. Metal and appliances are recycled, and a refrigerator is both. The same goes for the dead chest freezer and the mini fridge from the shop. When the old range and dishwasher come out of the same kitchen, they go to recycling on the same trip. Whatever is plain trash on the same load, like the bags of spoiled food a tenant left behind, goes to the landfill.

What stays in the garage when the fridge leaves

A garage fridge rarely stands alone. Often there is a shelf of paint cans next to it and the propane tank for the grill in the corner. The fridge goes. Those stay. Neal will not take paint, solvents or chemicals, and he will not take propane or any other pressurized tank, firearms and ammunition, or asbestos.

Look inside too. A fridge that held insulin or other medicine can have sharps in a door shelf. Neal will not take medical waste, so those come out first. Hazardous waste is refused on every pickup. Set the cans and tanks aside so the photo shows only what is leaving. Anything else that has to stay off the load is on the rundown of what Neal hauls and what he turns down.

Getting a fridge out from where it sits

Leave the fridge right where it is. Neal carries the fridge out from where it sits, whether it is wedged between cabinets or parked against the garage wall. Emptying the food out ahead of time makes the carry lighter.

The photo matters more on a fridge than on a pile of bags. Show the fridge and the path out, including any steps. A fridge in a second-floor apartment comes down the stairwell, and seeing it ahead of time shows what the carry looks like.

For a rental, the property manager can send the photo with the unit number and any gate code. If a new fridge is on the way, mention the delivery date in the text so the pickup can be planned around it.

What it costs to haul off a fridge

The minimum is $85. Past that floor, Neal prices the fridge from your photo by the truck space it fills. A lone mini fridge and a pair of full-size units with a freezer take up different amounts of space, so they get different numbers. Boxes from the garage that ride along with the fridge are part of the same load and the same number.

One fridge or three, Neal quotes one figure for the lot, with no add-ons on top. The carry from the kitchen and the trip down the stairs from an upstairs unit sit inside that number. Questions

Questions about refrigerator removal.

How much does refrigerator removal cost?
The minimum is $85. Past that, a photo of the fridge sets the price, based on how much of the truck it takes up. Nothing gets added on top of that number.
Does the fridge need to be moved to the curb first?
No. Leave it standing in the kitchen or the garage, and Neal walks it out from there on pickup day.
Will a working fridge be donated?
Yes, when a donation center will take it. A fridge that no longer runs goes to recycling with other metal and appliances.
Can Neal take the propane tank and paint next to the fridge?
No. Neal leaves paint, solvents, chemicals, propane and every other pressurized tank behind. The fridge and the ordinary junk around it can go.
Can a property manager book a fridge pickup for a rental?
Yes. Text a photo to (559) 815-0874 showing the fridge, and name the unit and its gate code in the message. Put any other junk left in the unit in the same photo.
Is fridge pickup available on Sunday?
No. Fridge pickups run Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with Sunday closed.
