The black Trash N Dash dump trailer with yellow Junk Removal lettering and the phone number on its side

What goes on the truck

Most of what a Kerman home or business needs gone fits on the 12-yard dump trailer with the Trash N Dash logo. A short list stays off it.

Homeowners and landlords around Kerman and the Central Valley ask what Neal hauls before they text. Here it is, job by job, with the few things he leaves behind. Neal prices every load from a photo, as one number for the whole job, and the minimum is $85. For the full lineup, see the page that lists every service Neal offers.

Whole houses and properties

Sometimes the job is a whole house. Estate cleanouts cover a parent's home after the family has taken what they want. Hoarding cleanup is for rooms packed wall to wall. Foreclosure and eviction cleanouts clear what got left behind when the people moved out. Property cleanouts get a rental or a lot ready for the next owner or tenant. The beds and the boxes in the back bedroom go on the trailer too.

  • Beds, dressers and kitchen tables
  • Boxes of old clothes and paperwork
  • Dishes, pots and pans
  • Rugs and curtains
  • Lamps and side tables
  • Stacks of old magazines and newspapers
  • Whatever a tenant left behind
  • Holiday decorations from the attic

Garages and storage units

A garage fills up one box at a time until the car lives in the driveway. Garage cleanouts take the boxes and the old bikes, plus the shelving if it's going too. Storage unit cleanouts work the same way. Neal loads what the unit holds so it can be closed out and the monthly bill can stop.

  • Old bikes and exercise equipment
  • Metal shelving
  • Boxes nobody has opened in years
  • Workbenches and old tools
  • Camping gear and coolers
  • Kids' toys and outgrown sports gear
  • Old luggage and moving boxes

Furniture, couches and mattresses

One heavy piece is reason enough to text. Furniture removal covers the dresser upstairs and the dining set in the garage. Couch removal takes the sectional out of the living room. Mattress removal takes the old mattress and the box spring with it. Bulky item pickup is for the one awkward thing the trash can won't hold. Neal carries the couch out from wherever it sits in the house.

  • Sectionals and recliners
  • Futons and sleeper sofas
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Dressers and armoires
  • Bed frames and headboards
  • Bookcases and cabinets
  • Office desks and chairs
  • Entertainment centers

Appliances and refrigerators

Old appliances are heavy, and most people don't have a way to move them. Appliance removal covers the washer and dryer, plus the stove that quit last month. Refrigerator removal covers the fridge in the kitchen and the spare one humming in the garage. Neal hauls them from where they stand. Metal and appliances are recycled.

  • Washers and dryers
  • Stoves and ovens
  • Dishwashers
  • Chest freezers
  • Upright freezers
  • Water heaters
  • Microwaves
  • Garage fridges

Yard waste, hot tubs and sheds

The backyard has its own kind of junk. Yard waste removal takes the cut branches and the pile by the fence. Hot tub removal handles the spa nobody has used in years. Shed and playset removal takes the rotted shed and the swing set the kids outgrew. Clear a path to the side gate if there is one, and Neal takes it from there.

  • Tree branches and brush
  • Leaves and grass clippings
  • Stumps and cut logs
  • Old hot tubs and spas
  • Wood and metal sheds
  • Swing sets and playsets
  • Worn-out patio furniture
  • Old planters and pots

Construction debris and concrete

A remodel leaves piles behind. Construction debris removal covers drywall, lumber scraps, old cabinets and the tile from a bathroom redo. Concrete removal takes broken slabs and the rubble left after a walkway comes out. Asbestos is on the won't-take list, so old material that may contain it stays off the trailer.

  • Drywall and lumber scraps
  • Old kitchen cabinets
  • Tile and flooring
  • Old doors and windows
  • Toilets and bathroom sinks
  • Broken concrete slabs
  • Bricks and pavers
  • Old fence boards

Businesses and everyday trash

Commercial junk removal is for shops and offices with a load to move. Old desks and the back room full of boxes both go. Trash removal is for bagged trash and loose junk that piled up past what the cans hold. Every job is priced from a photo, and how Neal prices a load has the details.

  • Office desks and filing cabinets
  • Break room tables and chairs
  • Store shelving and displays
  • Boxes of old files and records
  • Cardboard and packing material
  • Bagged household trash
  • Loose junk from a move-out

What Neal doesn't take

Neal turns down a short list of items on every job. Hazardous waste is refused. If one of these turns up in the pile, it stays behind and the rest of the load still goes. A half-empty can of paint in the garage counts too. Set them aside before the photo, so the price covers only what's going.

  • Paint, solvents and chemicals
  • Asbestos
  • Medical waste
  • Propane and other pressurized tanks
  • Firearms and ammunition

Where hazardous waste goes instead

The City of Fresno points to the Fresno HHW Facility and to the County of Fresno for details. Fresno County has an Environmental Compliance Center on West Dan Ronquillo Drive in Fresno. Those are the places for the paint, solvents and chemicals on the won't-take list above.

Items to ask Neal about first

Some things land in between, like a piano or a pool table. They aren't on the service list, and they aren't on the won't-take list either. Neal has to see them before he can say yes or no. Send the photo of that piece along with the rest of the load. Text a photo to (559) 815-0874.

Where it all ends up

Donation comes first. Furniture and household items that still have use go to a donation center. Metal and appliances are recycled. Real trash goes to the transfer station or the landfill. If something in the load is worth keeping, pull it before the trailer is loaded.
